Stayin’ alive!

One concept we don’t think about often is that the body was designed to do one thing… STAY ALIVE! We don’t often give our bodies enough credit for this, think about how often you think your body is trying to do the exact opposite 🤣

What we don’t realize is that every action that our body makes is just a REACTION to something we have done to our body. And it’s the same thing in pets! Our body is smart… it’s self-healing, self-regulating, and constantly changing to adapt to the stressors in it’s environment.

Our bodies send us subtle signals throughout the day letting us know how it’s responding to the environment… a change in heart rate might mean your body is working harder to fight off a virus, that pain in your hip might mean your body is sending white blood cells to the area to try to heal it, and that mid-day crash might be your body telling you that you didn’t fuel yourself properly so now it’s time to take a nap and refuel a different way. 😜

We get so frustrated and mad at symptoms, not realizing that it’s the body’s way of sending you smoke signals and asking for a change. That change might be giving yourself more rest, incorporating more movement, or fueling your body with the proper nutrition.

So here’s your reminder to LISTEN to your body and your pet’s body, and know that every “symptom” you see or feel is the body asking for help. Remember that our body is working FOR us, not AGAINST us, we just have to do our job and listen! 👂Our pet’s can’t tell us how or what they feel, which means watching their demeanor, body language, and gait is even more important!
